Stories of HOPE

Every situation is unique, every child is loved, every family is valuable. We are so grateful to be a part of these Stories of HOPE.

There have been a lot of ugly stories told to us by the kids from their prior situation. They’re less than trusting of adults and sometimes less trusting of their peer group. Thankfully thru this Foster Care process, ICA has provided resources in education and training on how we can get the foster kids to a mental space where they feel safe, loved, and know who God is in their lives.

Ms. F.

“Our adoption journey began through a calling from God to foster many years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Two adoptions, four beautiful children later we learned how much of God’s grace we needed and how much he would heal right before our eyes. The journey taught us that God’s grace is always sufficient and our hearts are full of thankfulness.”⠀

The S Family

Having the emotional baggage they carry, the pain. Then they arrive at our home and when they see that we don’t treat them any different from our bio kids, that’s you start to see a breakthrough. You start to see them open up.

Mr. J

“Adoption is welcoming a stranger to every part of your life and committing to them a place in your heart, promising to love and forgive. It is a dance of getting to know and growing together, studying them to know how you should respond or leading and gently showing them the way. Lots of missteps as you go, but lots of fun too. Adopting has been the scariest thing my husband and I have ever done, but God has met us as we stepped out in faith. Our marriage is better. We are better parents. Our hands are full, but also full of good things.”

J

“If God calls you to adopting, know that the road is not straight or always progressing. So be faithful and keep moving forward. Amazing things come out of it, and ultimately you’re saving a life by giving them family.”
