Family Requirements

  • Age: Prospective adoptive parents must be 25-55 years of age. There must be at least 15 years between younger parent and child. Ages 55+ can adopt 8 years or older.
  • Marriage:  Single women between the ages of 25-55. Prospective adoptive parents must be married at least 2 years.
  • Household: Can have only 2 or fewer divorces per person. No more than 5 children living in the home for couples. No more than 2 children in the home for single women.

Country Information

  • Travel: Both parents expected to travel and stay 3-5 weeks in Colombia
  • Residency Requirements: There are no residency requirements for prospective adoptive parents.
  • Wait Time: The adoption process can take up to 4 years; each case can vary.

Children Available

  • Age of Children: Ages 1–16 years of age.
  • Special Requests: Parents who are Colombian citizens can be considered for children 0-5 years old with minor special needs.
